What are the chances of getting a convalescent 30 day leave from ARMY basic training?

My husband is currently @ Ft. Benning, GA doing his 14-week OSUT. He just called me tonight to let me know that he got the results of his bone scan he had Wednesday he has two stress fractures one in his right knee and the other in his right thigh. He said he wont be able to do any training for 30 days, and then 1-3 months of physical therapy, and that he will either get a 30 CONV. leave or they will find busy work for him to do for the 30 days. The DR. recommend he go home that he would not get the rest he needed there. He is waiting for it to be reviewed, do the SGT's (or who ever reviews it) take that into any consideration?
